Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer, is seeking a Microbiology Technician to join their team. As a Microbiology Technician, you will be part of the Quality Control Department supporting the Sterilization and Microbiology teams. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a team environment with shifting priorities.
Job Title: Microbiology Technician
Location: Salt Lake City, UT Pay $22/hr
What’s the Job?
- Sampling and testing of products for the presence of pyrogen, heparin activity testing, and bioburden levels.
- Testing of incoming components using FT-IR, melt flow, density, specific gravity, pH, and corrosion resistance.
- Sampling and testing of in-house purified water, and those portions of the manufacturing process which utilize water, for the presence of endotoxin and/or microbial load, pH, TOC, and conductivity.
- Testing of biological indicators used in the monitoring and release of ethylene oxide sterilization cycles.
- Evaluating all new products, modified products, or material changes to assess sterilization and biocompatibility impact per the requirements of ISO 10993.
What’s Needed?
- Computer proficiency and adaptability working with a variety of databases, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
- Ability to work in a team environment with shifting priorities and requirements.
- Previous experience testing medical devices is a plus.
- Good organizational and communication skills required.
- Knowledge of physical sciences and laboratory equipment.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Associate Degree preferred.
