Position Purpose:
This role is essential in ensuring that foodservice operations run smoothly and that customers receive their products in excellent condition and on time. Delivery drivers play a vital role in the nation's food supply chain. In this position, you will be responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck to safely and efficiently deliver food and related products to our customers, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction: Professionally communicate with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Order Delivery: Deliver customer orders on schedule, ensuring timely and accurate service.
- Safe Driving: Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to make scheduled deliveries, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Loading/Unloading: Safely load and unload products, which may involve lifting heavy items, operating a hand truck, or using a pallet jack.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers at delivery points, ensuring orders are complete and addressing any issues that arise.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, including delivery times, mileage, and any incidents or discrepancies.
- Unload and Inspect: Unload products, conduct damage control checks, and collect payments.
- Paperwork: Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness in the tractor and loading dock area.
- End-of-Shift Duties: Secure all equipment and finalize paperwork at the end of your shift.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Experience: 1+ year of commercial driving experience.
- Licensing: Valid CDL-A and 21+ years of age.
- Driving Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Compliance: Pass post-offer drug test, criminal background check, and road test.
- Health: Possess a valid current DOT Health Card.
