We need an Assistant Manager for the restaurant to make sure that everything runs smoothly and quickly every day.
As the assistant manager of a restaurant, my duties include buying cooking tools and supplies based on our needs, handling contracts and payroll, and keeping an eye on how well the staff does their jobs. To do well in this job, you should know how a restaurant works and what makes good customer service. You should also be able to work during business hours, even on vacations and the weekends.
In the end, you will help us cut down on running costs, keep our employees, and give our guests a good eating experience.
Responsibilities:
- Figure out what tools and equipment you will need in the future and place orders as needed.
- Find new bulk food providers and talk about prices.
- Keep track of and keep contracts and bills from vendors.
- Make sure that staff in the front and back of the house can talk to each other.
- Make plans for shifts.
- Pay everyone who works in the kitchen.
- Watch over the cook and wait staff and help out when needed.
- Keep careful records of your daily, weekly, and monthly income and expenses.
- Set up the right way for new employees to start (by booking trainings and buying uniforms).
- Make sure that safety and cleanliness rules are being followed.
- Get feedback from our guests and suggest ways to make our meals better.
Skills needed
- Experience as an assistant manager in a restaurant or a related job in the hospitality business.
- Knowledge of restaurant management software, such as OpenTable and PeachWorks.
- Strong math and writing skills
- Attitude toward customer service, communication, and managing a team
- Being able to work during business hours
- High school education; extra training in service is preferred.
