The Elementary Teacher is responsible for delivering a comprehensive educational program that fosters the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of students in the elementary grades. The teacher will create and implement engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support each student's educational journey.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and district curriculum standards across core subjects such as reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including whole-class instruction, small group work, hands-on activities, and technology integration, to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Implement classroom rules and procedures to manage student behavior effectively and minimize disruptions.
- Address behavioral issues promptly and appropriately, using positive discipline techniques and promoting self-regulation among students.
- Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, observations, and formative assessments.
- Provide regular and constructive feedback to students to guide their academic progress and development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and other relevant data.
- Provide individualized support to students who need additional help, including those with learning disabilities, English language learners, and gifted students.
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and administrators to plan and coordinate curriculum, share resources, and develop school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Teaching certification or licensure for elementary education in the state of practice.
- Experience:
- Previous teaching experience in an elementary school setting is preferred, though entry-level positions may be available for newly certified teachers.
