The School Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and academically challenging environment for students. The teacher designs and implements lesson plans, assesses student progress, and collaborates with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support the holistic development of students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Teach subjects such as mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, and other relevant topics, depending on the grade level and subject area.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, group activities, hands-on learning, and technology integration, to engage students and enhance learning.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement and enforce classroom rules and procedures to ensure student behavior supports a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Assess student performance regularly through assignments, tests, quizzes, and other evaluation methods.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to help them understand their progress and areas for improvement.
  • Identify and address the needs of students with learning difficulties or those requiring additional support, including working with special education staff as needed.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills in students.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
    • Teaching certification or licensure required for the specific grade level and subject area in the state of practice.
  • Experience:
    • Previous teaching experience is preferred, though entry-level positions may be available for newly certified teachers.
    • Experience in specific subject areas or grade levels may be required depending on the position.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of subject matter and curriculum standards.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Classroom management skills to create a positive and orderly learning environment.
    • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
    • Organizational and time-management skills to handle lesson planning, grading, and other responsibilities.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment:
    • Work is typically performed in a classroom setting within a school environment.
    • May involve standing for extended periods, interacting with students, and using various educational tools and technology.
  • Hours:
    • Full-time, generally following a standard school year schedule with breaks during holidays and summer.
