High School Teacher

The High School Teacher provides instruction in one or more subjects to students in grades 9-12, fostering a learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and academic excellence. The teacher plans lessons, assesses student performance, and works collaboratively with other educators, parents, and administrators to support student success and development.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and district curriculum standards for specific subjects, such as English, mathematics, science, social studies, or foreign languages.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies, including lectures, discussions, projects, and technology integration, to engage students and meet diverse learning needs.
• Foster an environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
• Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Implement classroom rules and procedures to manage student behavior effectively and create a safe, supportive learning space.
• Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including exams, quizzes, projects, presentations, and formative assessments.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to help them understand their progress and areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and other relevant data.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress, address concerns, and involve them in their child's education.
• Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and administrators to plan and coordinate curriculum, share resources, and develop school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field with a concentration in the subject area taught (e.g., English, Mathematics, Science).
  • Teaching certification or licensure for high school education in the state of practice.
• Experience:
  • Previous teaching experience at the high school level is preferred, though entry-level positions may be available for newly certified teachers.
  • Experience in specific subject areas or grade levels may be required depending on the position.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of subject matter and high school curriculum standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Effective classroom management skills to create a positive and orderly learning environment.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills for planning lessons, grading, and managing classroom activities.

Working Conditions:
